Base Camp Printing Co. is a vintage letterpress shop, design studio, and retail store offering unique modern designs using old-fashioned handmade printing techniques.
Everything from concert and event posters to personal stationery and wedding invitations is designed in-house and printed by hand on old-school printing presses using traditional methods of setting type and hand-carving images.
All of our work is handprinted on one of our vintage printing presses. For larger pieces, we print on a Vandercook 219-AB made in the 1950s. We also use a Chandler & Price Platen Press that is around 100 years old!
Many of the methods that we use to print in our shop are exactly the same as they would have been hundreds of years ago. This includes hand setting vintage wood and metal type from our collection.
