This print features one of the most prominent buildings on the WVU campus - Woodburn Hall. Both the silhouette and the background were hand carved out of linoleum. The building is printed in a dark brown, while the background was printed using a split-fountain technique to mimic a soft sunset on a fall West Virginia day.
All items are letterpress printed on an 80 year old press in Charleston, WV. The images are printed from either original printing blocks that were generously donated to us from retired printers, or from hand carved linoleum blocks. This is combined with hand set vintage letterpress type - either wood or metal. Printed on white French paper (made in the USA).
Ink colors are hand mixed and each item is hand printed individually. The color and texture of each print is unique and may vary somewhat from the pictures.
